We are looking for a suitably qualified Development Compliance Officer to join the Planning Services Department within a dynamic Council, which will allow you to capitalise on your existing skillset. You will inspect and investigate properties and interpret and apply planning controls as per the planning scheme. You will investigate complaints made by the community and correspond effectively and efficiently with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders.
The candidate will have proven ability to interpret planning scheme controls and the ability to achieve appropriate negotiated outcomes to planning investigation and enforcement matters you will have a demonstrated ability to provide professional service to a range of clients. You will need to hold a current Drivers Licence.
The successful candidate will have completed a tertiary qualification in town planning or regulatory services and experience in the field of planning enforcement ideally within a local government environment. However, individuals who have held positions in local laws or have at least 12 months in a statutory planning position are encouraged to apply.

Position Hours: Part-time, 45 hours per fortnight.
Salary: Schedule A, Salary Point 11 $70,898.86 to $79,794.56 (pro-rata) in accordance with Glenorchy City Council’s Enterprise Agreement 2016
