The skills required to be an Environmental Health Officer closely complement those required to be successful in the Development Compliance Officer role as well. However, applicants wishing to apply solely for either discipline on a permanent part time basis are also strongly encouraged to apply.The Candidate: The Environmental Health Officer component of the role will require you to have an understanding of the relevant legislation pertaining to the role of an EHO and be competent with the assessment of food premises, and other relevant areas related to environmental and public health.The Development Compliance Officer component of the role will require you to have (or obtain) an understanding of planning legislation, investigative skills and sound conflict resolution skill/negotiation skills.In order to be successful in this position (or in a part time position), you will need to be a highly organised, self-motivated individual committed to delivering quality customer service.Qualifications: The successful candidate will have completed a Bachelor of Health Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent qualifications to the satisfaction of the Director of Public Health. Consideration may be given to someone currently studying Environmental Health.Position Number: 100564Position Hours: Full Time, 75 hours per fortnight or consideration will be given to applications on a part time basis.
