ICT Technical Officer

About the RoleGlenorchy City Council is seeking a customer-focused ICT Technical Officer to deliver timely and accurate technical support to Council employees and stakeholders. The role is responsible for resolving day-to-day ICT issues, maintaining quality service records, and supporting the effective operation of the ICT Team to ensure reliable and responsive services across the organisation.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide timely technical triage, resolution, and escalation of ICT requests and incidents for Council staff and stakeholders.Support onboarding by assisting new staff with system access, hardware setup, and basic ICT guidance.Maintain accurate and consistent service desk records for all ICT requests and incidents.Create, modify, and manage user accounts and access across systems including O365, Active Directory, and TechOne.Provide basic ICT security support, including MFA assistance, password management, and access troubleshooting.Set up, manage, and track ICT hardware and equipment, including asset allocation and stock monitoring.Install and support approved software applications and manage application licences.Contribute to ICT knowledge resources and work collaboratively with the ICT team to improve service delivery.Desirable Qualifications & ExperienceCertificate IV in Information Technology or equivalent experience.Experience working in an ITIL-based service desk environment (minimum two years).Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments, with exposure to PowerShell scripting.Knowledge of ICT documentation practices and audio-visual technologies.Demonstrated ability to analyse, prioritise, and resolve ICT incidents efficiently with minimal supervision.Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with excellent oral and written communication abilities.Current driver’s licence.Why join usJoin a collaborative ICT team delivering reliable, user-focused technology services that support Council operations and the wider community, while offering opportunities to grow your skills in a dynamic local government environment.Our Commitment to CommunityCouncil is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the community we serve.  We are also committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people and have zero tolerance to child abuse and harm.
