Glenorchy City Council is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the planning, governance, and delivery of complex capital works that support our growing community.About the Role:As a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and capital works projects from concept through to completion. Projects may include streetscape improvements, bridges, boardwalks, lighting, and other vital community infrastructure.You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards—while aligning with Council’s strategic objectives, statutory requirements, and community expectations.What you’ll bring to the role:You are a highly capable project professional with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, and a proven ability to deliver complex infrastructure projects in a public or similar environment.Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline or extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualificationsDemonstrated success delivering complex infrastructure or capital works projects end-to-endStrong stakeholder engagement skills, particularly in community-facing environmentsProven experience in contract management, procurement, and negotiationExcellent communication skills, including report writing and presenting to senior stakeholdersStrong financial management capability, including budget development and reportingA proactive approach to risk management, safety, and quality assuranceYou will also hold (or be able to obtain) a Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP).   • Proven experience in contract management, procurement, and negotiation
  • Excellent communication skills, including report writing and presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Strong financial management capability, including budget development and reporting
  • A proactive approach to risk management, safety, and quality assurance
