Glenorchy City Council is seeking a dynamic and motivated Youth Engagement Officer to join our team.About the RoleAs our Youth Engagement Officer, you will be on the ground, actively connecting with young people in the Glenorchy area through meaningful engagement and capacity-building initiatives. Your role will focus on fostering strong relationships, building pathways to external support services, and developing innovative youth-focused projects that empower young people to take initiative and thrive.What We’re Looking For:A tertiary qualification in a related field or equivalent demonstrated experience, with at least three (3) years in a similar role.Strong planning and report-writing skills, with the ability to quickly learn and apply project evaluation methods.A natural ability to build trust and establish rapport with young people while maintaining clear professional boundaries.A motivating presence that encourages young people to take initiative, develop confidence, and strengthen their own capabilities.An understanding of community development principles, trauma-informed practice, and youth engagement approaches that support health, wellbeing, and resilience.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to work effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds, as well as external partners and community groups.
