Then this may be the position for you!We are currently looking for a suitably qualified GIS Administrator to join our ICT Department, allowing you to capitalise on your existing skillset as you undertake the administration of Council’s Geographic Information System (GIS).The Candidate will have:Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills;Knowledge of the principles of geospatial information science and GIS technology;Extensive experience in GIS software for asset management, coupled with knowledge of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) for data collection and GIS integration;The ability to employ LiDAR and raster data and extensive experience using spatial data transformation and manipulation software, particularly Safe Software’s FME product;Being proficient with scripting languages to achieve system administration (for example Python); andKnowledge of spatial database systems and structured query language.Qualifications: The successful candidate will have completed a Degree in Spatial Sciences or other relevant discipline, OR have five (5) years of experience in the use of GIS technology, OR an equivalent combination of education and experiencePosition Number: 100120Position Hours: Full-Time: 37.5 hours per week, with a 9-day fortnight Salary: Schedule A, Salary Point 12: $75,832.47 to $85,347.34 per annum in accordance with Glenorchy City Council’s Enterprise Agreement 2021.
